Hook Island Eco Resort

Whitsundays

< back to projects

With secluded beaches, abundant wildlife, dense forests and spectacular coral reefs, Hook Island is perfectly positioned for visitors wishing to experience the Whitsundays and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the region. In conjunction with the Hook Island Eco Resort Group, Bauenort fast-tracked the transformation of the disused resort destroyed by years of cyclones back to its unique natural state. Works included removal of the old resort buildings and observatory.

Acting on behalf of the owners, Bauenort collaborated closely with all regulatory authorities and stakeholders to obtain masterplan approval in 2022 for a nature-based, eco-friendly resort focused on low-impact, low-emission, sustainable accommodation for the environmentally conscious visitor.

Bauenort then managed the sale process to Sydney hotelier, Glenn Piper. The result was testament to the planning outcome achieved and culminated in a phenomenally successful economic result for the owner.
